because pink really is the new black

My first learning project on our new computer (we got an iMac) is a slideshow of pictures from the Susan G. Komen 3 Day Breast Cancer Walk I did last August.

It was such an incredible experience (one that I have no desire to repeat, but, still, absolutely incredible), and even now I get a titch choked up looking at the pictures from those crazy three days last summer. I grabbed most of the photos for this slideshow from my Facebook page (we still haven't finished transferring all of our files from the old computer), so the resolution is pretty low (which, I might add, doesn't really bother me, but sure does seem to perturb my resolution-obsessed husband). Consider this a first draft, and enjoy!

P.S. I know, I know --- no new job/most of 2009/Lola the wonder-dog updates yet. This working full-time stuff is really cutting in on my blogging time (er, let's not dwell on the fact that I was unemployed for most of last year and still managed to post almost never). Soon, friends, soon!

we did it!

3 days, 60 miles, 7 friends, an AWESOME time! A much bigger update on my Breast Cancer 3-Day experience coming this weekend. For now, a BIG, GIANT, ENORMOUS thank you to my amazing team. I could NOT have done this without you girls! And, an equally big and enthusiastic than you to everyone who supported me on this crazy journey. Love you all!

and i would walk 500 miles...

...but I only need to walk 60 to make a difference. That's right, 60 miles of walking. I just might be a little crazy!

Five friends and I have formed a team, Pink is the New Black (it took us a ridiculously long time to come up with that one!), and we will be walking 60 miles in 3 days as part of the Twin Cities Breast Cancer 3-Day Walk. The walk will be August 21- 23, and we are working hard to train to walk 60 miles, and to fundraise for this incredible cause. We've each agreed to raise $2,300, and I have set a personal goal of $2,600. I am so excited to take on this physical, mental, and emotional endeavor, and I know it's going to be an event that will stay with me for the rest of my life. I would greatly appreciate any support that people could give me - be it donations, positive thoughts, or encouraging words - to help me reach my goal.

If you would like to donate, you can click on the 3-Day logo on the right-hand side of this page, or you can click here, to access my personal page. THANK YOU, friends!
