one year down & happy birthday to gigie!

sunday, the 12th, marked kevin's and my first wedding anniversary, and the 17th will mark our 4th year together overall. i can't believe how quickly this year has gone by (i know, a total cliche, but it's true!). it has been a change-laden and fun first year of marriage, and i feel very lucky to have such a beautiful person as my partner in all of these adventures. we had a lovely first anniversary celebration - champagne and strawberries in our plush room at the grand hotel in downtown minneapolis, a beautiful new bracelet for me, a delicious dinner for two at restaurant alma, and breakfast in bed the next day. it was the perfect way to celebrate our first year together. I love you, kev.

sunday was also my sister gigie's 16th birthday. kevin and I were really happy to be able to celebrate with gigie and my parents. my family came out to see our new home in minneapolis, and it was great having them here. we spent the day exploring the rose garden and the peace garden in minneapolis, and then we all went out to buca di beppo's for a festive birthday dinner. somehow, we ended up having the whole restaurant sing happy birthday to gigie - who was horrified and, I think, touched. it was amazing! it is awesome to see the beautiful person that gigie is becoming - she is so grown up now. my family set off on their drive home this morning and kev and i miss them already. have fun at mount rushmore and at the grand tetons, guys!
