1. It's going to be nearly 70 degrees today! We haven't seen that temp in these parts since October. OCTOBER, people. I'm so happy I could do a jig, and, actually, I AM. I'm doing a jig, right now. A happy, little, "Oh, sun! Oh, blue sky! Oh, birds! Oh, first buds of spring!" dance. That's the thing about living in places where you freeze your butt off for five months out of the year, when spring comes, it's euphoric. I'm talking about one of the greatest natural highs one can experience. I'm talking about magic. No one - young or old, seasoned winterer or cold-weather newbie, happy-go-lucky or old grumpus - is immune to it. Everyone runs around writing poetry, doing jigs, skipping and biking around lakes, and pointing at geese, ducks, and teensy little buds, and saying "Oooh, look! How MARVELOUS!" And everyone else nods, and smiles, and says "Yes, indeed! How maaaaaaaaaaaarvelous!" It's the best.
2. In the spirit of rejoicing at the great old Earth coming to life again, I can hardly wait to go and watch
this:
I cried the first time I saw that preview. Isn't it beautiful?
You know what? I think I'll go for a nice bicycle ride around the lakes on this gorgeous day. Yes, that's exactly what I'll do.
